Note This is a strange feeling. This half-term was meant to be such a celebration. A celebration of your Children’s achievements, their friendships and progress. We will have that, but it does leave me with a little bit of sadness. I still have no news when or if the pupils will be returning this half-term. Thank you all for the positive communication and interaction you have had with me. We will continue doing the weekly meet ups and see what happens in the coming weeks. The hub really is the best source if you want to do any work with your young people. Remember – you don’t have to! It’s there if you need it. No pressure.

Previous Challenges….Shine Media Awards   I have had an email from the Shine Media Awards in London. They want schools to still enter for the award, and we were due to create a new edition of #Osborne for this years awards. They still want us to submit!   I’m going to do some video call conferences with the class to edit the edition, but we need content. So….   #Osborne Lockdown Project   Please could all pupils complete the ‘Lockdown Diary’ work I’ve sent via email and I’ve uploaded it to the hub (PDF or PowerPoint). Complete as much as possible and send back to me via email. Then using Microsoft teams we will compile everything together into a new issue. I hope that makes sense. PUPILS DO NOT NEED TO COMPLETE THIS, but it would be great if they could. Thank you!   Ben Dlugokecki, 11BD Class Teacher

Well done Liam – Excellent work on Ben’s Challenge #1

Work for week beginning 30.3.20

Resources have been sent via email, here again is what you could be doing with your young people this week. Thanks to everyone who came to the Zoom conference yesterday! It was fab! It’s good to remember what Sonia said in her letter today:

Whatever you do, please do not put undue pressure on yourselves and/or your young person during this time.  We appreciate that for many of you, becoming your child’s teacher will not be easy and your young person may not respond well to your change of role.  There is no expectation for you to complete lots of work and if you have more fun learning life skills such as cooking and cleaning and family games then that is fine with us too.

Active challenge It is important to keep fit and healthy. Please try and join Joe Wicks each day and take part in PE with Joe. Daisy, Lily and I have been doing it everyday.     www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGKGNzNbWjU

You can also try Stu’s game below!
Ben’s weekly challenge #1  Choose a famous person. Anyone you want. Find out as much information about them as you can from books, the internet, magazines and your family. Present the information to me as a video/powerpoint/animation/song/poem.

Send this to me via email as a picture/file when you’ve completed it.
Mindfulness   Colouring – See resources below!
Relaxation technique It is important to keep calm at this stressful time. Try and practice this breathing technique each day.   https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JYytiS0ymZg
English Please check the KS4 English Hub where you will find a lesson plan for the week.
Maths Please complete the work set via email. Extend the learning using http://www.topmarks
Life skill challenge   As you are spending so much time at home it needs to be clean. Hoover a different room each day.
