Sports Day 2015

Sports Day

On Tuesday 23rd June, we held our annual Osborne School Sports Day. We were         extremely lucky with the weather on the day and once again, The Army School of         Education sent a large number of troops to support us in the morning.

The day began with an amazing opening ceremony, put on by the Army. With members of “The Rifles” in their ranks, they marched down the slope outside to a drum solo, came to attention on the flapjack, before receiving a ‘mock’ inspection by the Head teacher – Sonia O’Donnell. The pupils and staff were then welcomed with 4 buglers to mark the opening of Sports Day.

The morning session followed with a carousel of activities, led by The Army, that all pupils took part in and won points for their respective houses. We then enjoyed a picnic style lunch on the field, followed by the competitive running races in the afternoon. The day concluded with the staff and parents races, which were highly contested!

It was a fun packed day, enjoyed by all pupils, staff and the army. It was also lovely to see so many parents and carers in attendance on the day.

I would like to thank everyone for making the day such a huge success.
