Sonia’s weekly news – 21st September

SoniaAnother great week was had by all, with all pupils and staff now fully settled into the timetable and enjoying the learning taking place.

Pupils are already starting to come up with ways in which they can develop their learning with already a request to run a fashion show to raise money for Children in need.

Our support assistant for VI is busy planning an awareness day for the last day of this half term. Our production team are also busy planning the Christmas show and of course we continue to plan our amazing trip to the Royal Albert Hall.

Last week the Teachers carried out training on the EHCP transfer reviews and the annual review process, so please do not hesitate in contacting us if you require any support. We are running another parent workshop this Friday the 25th

FOS had a successful meeting last week and were busy planning fundraising events for the year and you will be pleased to hear that work will start on the outside space today 21st, this will be the implementation of the fully accessible swings and the outside gym. I am reliably informed this should all be completed in 4 weeks, so it wont be long and pupils will be able to enjoy the equipment. If anyone would like to join FOS you would be very welcome, without the support of FOS we would not be able to have many of the things for our pupils.

Before I close this week I would also like to inform you that the new chair and Vice chair of Governors have now been voted in and they are:

  • Chair: Mrs Penny Parkinson
  • Vice Chair: Mrs Cathy Taylor

They are both very well known to the school and I am sure will do a sterling Job. I am very much looking forward to working with them.

Have an enjoyable week

Sonia
