British Transport Police visit Osborne School

On Monday 25th January 2016, we were lucky enough to welcome DC Claire Collin and Constable Tony Brooks from the British Transport Police. Their main aim was to introduce the theme of Cycle Crime Prevention and all pupils attended an assembly in the afternoon.

The pupils were given some information and background about the British Transport Police, the roles their officers undertake and statistics about cycle crime, specifically at local Train Stations.

They then launched a fantastic competition for all of our pupils to participate in. Along with other schools, they are asking pupils to design and make a new Cycle Crime Prevention Poster. The winning entry will receive £50 worth of Amazon vouchers, tickets for a family of four to travel on South West Trains, goodies from ‘SelectaMark’ and additional prizes from the British Transport Police themselves. Furthermore, the winning poster will also be enlarged to A1 size and displayed at the winning pupils local train station (Winchester).

This is a fantastic opportunity for our pupils, with some great prizes! Whilst not a compulsory competition, I am hoping that all pupils will take part and hopefully one of our pupils will be crowned the winner.
