The Golden Mile at Osborne School
Osborne School have signed up for the Golden Mile with the support of Winchester City Council who generously providing the funding for the initiative. The Golden Mile is a safe, simple and measureable health and physical activity initiative accessible to all age groups regardless of ability. The aim is to inspire and encourage young people with a focus on fun, rewarding personal achievement, raising money and healthy competition
Here at Osborne we have designed two routes to follow ensuring that all pupils have access to the programme. Classes are encouraged to complete the routes on a daily basis to promote healthy lifestyles and support emotional well-being. Each class is registered and teachers record each lap a pupil completes. As the initiative continues to grow classes will start to design their own routes, upload photos and, in the summer term, the school will be aiming to raise money for charity.
