Science Day 2017

Osborne celebrated National Science week with a Science day on 13th March. The theme this year was ‘Change’ and we took part in lots of activities that should how materials can change my mixing, heating, cooling and with chemical reactions, as well as how the seasons change around us.

We found out how popcorn changed from a seed into a popped kernel when heat is added, how liquid latex and acid (vinegar) mixed together have a chemical reaction to form rubber bands and bouncy balls.

We also investigated irreversible and reversible changes, mixing materials to make salt dough and sensory play dough, space age play dough and exploding rockets.

We all enjoyed the day and all the fun practical experiments that we did.
