Sports Day 2019
On Thursday 20th June, we had our Whole School Sports Day. The weather, in the morning, was glorious and the pupils took part in a carousel of activities out on the school field. We were joined by Southampton FC’Saintsability’ Coaches, who put on a football assault course, The Army School of Education – Worthy Down Barracks, who ran an Army assault course and also London Irish Rugby Club, who put together a rugby skills based course. Fun was had by all and parents/carerswere able to join their young people throughout the morning as they took part in all the activities.
After the morning session, the heavens opened and we were hit by heavy rainfall. Pupils and their visitors retreated inside the main school building to have their lunch and hoped for a change in weather for the afternoonsession. Our hopes were soon answered as the rain stopped and the sun re-appeared. Pupils then took part in a series of different races in the afternoon. There were sprints, long distance, relay races, wheelchair races and supported races. There was even timefor Staff and Parent races before the finale, where the whole school got to see the Army Soldiers race.
An amazing day was had by all and our School Sports Day House Winners for 2019 were the Yellow house. Well done to everyone who took part.
