Parent & Carer Update

Dear Parents and Carers

I hope that you continue to enjoy good health and are staying safe at what continues to be a difficult time.

I have spent time since the government announcement on Sunday reading through all the guidance and DfE’s newly published advice.  This advice continues to arrive and I am considering it all in conjunction with the school Leadership Team and the Governors.

The national publicity will have fuelled considerable speculation; not least as the proposals contain mutually incompatible suggestions.  However, for now and the next few weeks it’s carry on as we have been.

We are determined to re-open school and will do this in accordance with a key principle:

To maximise the effectiveness of teaching and care for our students, whilst safeguarding the health and well-being of everyone on site.

We are planning how best we can achieve this, but as you can imagine, there are many aspects and details to consider.  We will do what works best in the context of our buildings, corridors, student travel, staffing levels, cleaning, timetable etc.  We will contact you all detailing those arrangements before the 1st June.

We are sure you share our determination to open again, whilst at the same time maintaining the safety and well-being of our students and staff.

In the meantime, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you once again for the considerable support you have given us and please continue to look on the school’s website and remain in contact with your class teacher.  There are some more exciting events coming up such as the on-line school Summer Fayre next week. More details about this will be announced tomorrow and over the weekend.

Take care everyone and I will be in touch again very soon.

Sonia White, Headteacher

& Chris Gayler, Chair of Governors
