Remote Learning via Gaming Consoles
It has come to our attention that Playstation 4 and Xbox One users can access Zoom and Microsoft Team video conferencing by using their devices. This may well benefit young people who struggle to engage with the daily online lessons. Those pupils could potentially access Zoom or Microsoft Teams using their devices.
Below are some ‘How to guides’ if this is something you might want to try. It’s not an easy process I’m afraid. Please email HERE if you are struggling to get this working.

1. First, go to the Google Play Store application on your device.
2. Search for “Zoom Cloud Meeting app” or “Zoom app”, download and install it.
3. Then, go back to Google Play Store and download and install the other app “Screen Mirroring app”.
4. Now, go back to PS4 and open the internet browser on your application menu.
5. There, you can paste the link – https://tvee.app/screen-mirroring on the screen box and click Go.
6. The user can scan the QR code and enter the code on the screen mirroring app.
7. Then, open the Screen Mirroring app to scan the QR code and enter the code on your app.
8. The phone screen can display your PS4 screen in a second.
9. Now, open the Zoom app on your android device.
10. Enter to log in the details and sign in.
11. Now, the PS4 starts to operate. The user can create a video call and host the meeting as per your wish.
Xbox:
1. First, connect the Chromecast to the Xbox HDMI port.
2. Then, open the Television app on the XBOX.
3. There are two options. One is connecting your cable and the other is the satellite box.
4. You can choose any one of the options.
5. Now, you can click option A and click next and then select skip.
6. Here, there are two options. There is an Open TV app on the home Screen.
7. There, click next.
8. Next, go to your android device, PC and MAC and then click cast.
9. Now, you can select your Chromecast device in the option.
10. Finally, it will cast your device to Xbox.
11. Now, you can open the Zoom app on your device.

1. Identify the PlayStation internet browser icon (it is WWW with dots around it)
2. Press the PlayStation logo on the controller
3. Go to the library and find options for games and applications
4. Go in to applications and you will find the internet browser
5. Type in Microsoft teams into the browser and login to your account using your username and password.
6. You can then access all the online content for home learning and watch live sessions.
7. Use a headset to interact if you have one.
Xbox One:
1. Plug a keyboard in to the Xbox USB slot
2. Go in to my games and apps
3. Find Microsoft Edge and select
4. Type in: Microsoft teams and login to your account using your username and password.
5. You can then access all the online content for home learning and watch live sessions.
6. To move around you use the Xbox controller or plug in a mouse
7. Use a headset to interact if you have one.
