Safer Internet Day 2022 will be celebrated today with the theme ‘All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online’

From gaming and chat, to streaming and video, young people are shaping the interactive entertainment spaces they are a part of. Safer Internet Day 2022 celebrates young people’s role in creating a safer internet, whether that is whilst gaming and creating content, or interacting with their friends and peers.

Safer Internet Day is celebrated globally in February each year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people, and to inspire a national conversation about using technology responsibly, respectfully, critically, and creatively.

We want to encourage pupils, parents, carers, staff and friends of Osborne School to spend a moment today thinking about their use of the internet, their use of technology and perhaps use today to visit this hugely important theme.

A fantastic resource provided by the team at the UK Safer Internet centre is the Online safety agreements (below). You could use this as a discussion starter at home, or print it off and display it in your home.

Below are some links to areas of internet safety which may be relevant to your family. Take some time to have a look at the pages.
