If you go down to the woods today you’re in for a BIG surprise!
Our work to improve and expand the use of our Forest area which we first mentioned back in December took a HUGE leap forward today (Sunday 12 June) when Mark and Jake Stead kindly gave up their well-earned rest on a Sunday to help us by levelling and flattening our fire circle area and also creating a tiered seating area for our woodland performance space. I think you’ll agree that the area looks stunning and it is so exciting to see the potential in this beautiful area begin to come to life. As with our report on our plans for this area in December we are on the lookout for anyone who can help us to develop this area further. We will be setting up a parent and staff volunteer group to help us to maintain the area and to keep it safe, accessible and usable for our pupils. If you would like to volunteer for this please email hhack@osborne.hants.sch.uk (apologies to anyone who tried to email me last time – I was very poorly with Covid soon after the piece went on the website). If anyone could help us (or knows of a company or someone else who could help with our wish list below please also get in touch:-
- Railway sleepers or wood to shore up the tiered seating area please also get in touch.
- Bluebells in the area to make it even more sensory and beautiful than it already is.
- A shed to keep tools and such like in for the area too.
Merritt tree surgeons are very kindly coming in soon to help us finish off the area so that we can officially open it and show it off to you at the school fete on the 2 July. Hopefully I will see you there and you can see it for yourself! An ENORMOUS thank you to Mark and Jake for all of their hard work and skill today.
