Rubik’s Cube perform at the Children and Young People Now Awards 2022
Rubik’s Cube were invited to perform at the annual Children and Young People Now Awards 2022, held at the Hurlingham Club in London. We couldn’t bring the whole choir due to the size of the stage, but around 20 of our young people made it to the London event via two mini-buses driven by Barry Barnett and our Headteacher, Sonia White.
We arrived and went backstage, not before too long we were taking pictures like celebrities!

Backstage was fun. We had a nice dressing room with a 2-course meal. Rubik’s Cube loved getting ready and rehearsing backstage.

While backstage, Makaton legend Dave Benson Phillips paid us a visit! He stayed for a while meeting us, taking selfies and he loved to hear about what we do!

Then time for a quick soundcheck…

Rob decided he would make a good award presenter, and all of us agreed! Rob mastered reading the script for the award ceremony, we are sure his agent will be calling him very soon.

We then headed for the stage. The performance was fantastic and it was the longest applause Rubik’s Cube has ever had. Simply marvellous. Well done, Rubik’s Cube!!

And after over a year of trying, we finally got a director’s photo, courtesy of Leo.

A huge thank you to Sylwia Rozmus for continuing to believe and support us. Thank you to the team at Children and Young People Now Awards for being such excellent hosts. A big thank you to the Osborne School staff who gave up another late night, and to the excellent sound team on the night lead by Andrew at Green Spark.
What a fantastic evening!
Thank you for your dazzling performance! Fantastic as always!
