Balfour Beatty M3 construction site visit

Last week class LSi went to visit the Balfour Beatty M3 construction site and had a fantastic time exploring the site! We watched different vehicle recovery demonstrations, then we all had a go at using the controls to recover the broken down car! The young people (and adults) were able to sit in the recovery lorry and beep the horn, have a ride in the recovery truck around the site and try on the safety equipment. One of the many highlights of the trip was going into the CCTV control room to look at all of the cameras along the M3 and some of the students used the controls to select specific live camera feeds and zoom in on the traffic. We were also able to try our hand at putting the cones out on one of the highway maintenance trucks which was a lot of fun. There were so many new experiences that we enjoyed during the morning! Balfour Beatty were very generous giving the young people some amazing experiences- thank you!
