Hello everyone and welcome back to the new school year!
I hope you all had a happy and relaxing few weeks and that you’re ready for the excitement and challenge that the next school year will bring. The pupils all seem to have settled back very quickly into their class and have a happy and purposeful feel.

Spring 2 News
On Wednesday ES Integrated took part in the Science Day. We did lots of exciting activities throughout the day; our favourite one was tasting exotic fruits and finding out where they come from. We had pieces of fruit such as mango, avocado, watermelon, passion fruit, coconut, kiwi and physalis. Molly was a keen explorer and found out that kiwi is green, has got lots of pips and is very slippery. Ella loved tasting all the fruits and was keep signing for more. Joe had lots of fun with Laura and liked to feel the taste of watermelon on his lips. Grace was able to identify her favourite fruit, mango, and also enjoyed taste of it on her lips. Bradley tasted fruits on her lips and was turning his head away when he was presented with avocado. Meanwhile Isabella looked cool on a residential trip to Runway’s End Outdoor Centre.

Autumn 2 news!
During Autumn 2 we were working on “Witches and Wizards” topic when we looked at stories such as “Wizard of Oz” and “Harry Potter”. We managed to do lots of magical activities which were linked to our topic; to name few – weather in Science (rain, storm and wind), Maths (shapes, weighing, measuring, more, less), we made Webster Witches’ Ugly Potion and we took part in Hogwarts school play. Check out the pictures to see how amazing time we had!
Autumn 1 term news!
During the first term of this academic year we were working on an “Autumn” theme. We have had lots of fun and learned how the environment around us changes during this season. I think one of our favourite activities was going for an Autumn walk and to the garden to pick some apples! I’m sure parents enjoyed the apples that our students counted and packed in little bags. They were delicious! We have also looked at Autumn colours in Art and made a beautiful picture of an Autumn tree using our fingers! In DT we were making bird feeders and looked how the lard changed its consistency from solid to liquid. To finish off the theme we used our senses to explore the pumpkins, carved them and painted! They looked amazing. Have a look at some of the pictures of our busy students, keep warm and wait for the next blog… Next term is Witches and Wizards Theme, exciting, which will lead us to Christmas!!
