Below is what ESINT will be learning this term:
|English||In English we will work on “Childhood Experience of the War” topic, we will experience various items from WWII and got to know “Goodnight Mr Tom” story.|
|English – Home learning opportunities||Take your child to a museum where they can use their senses to experience what it was during the war.
Read war stories with your young person.
|Maths||We continue to work on the four strands of maths and develop our skills in number, shape space and measure, handling data and using and applying. We will also try to develop pupils’ knowledge and skills to solve real life problems.|
|Maths – Home learning opportunities||Develop functional maths skills:
Practice identifying and using money when visiting the shops.
Pupils could explore time by becoming aware what activities you do each day, e.g. brush your teeth in the morning/evening, go to bed in the evening, etc.
Count objects- setting the table, food shopping and sorting laundry.
Look at different shapes whilst at home and out and about.
|Science||In Science we will continue to look at different sources of energy, we will do lots of hands on activities to find out where the natural sources of energy come from.
We will also explore rocks to identify different textures and features and sort them into categories.
|Science – Home learning opportunities||When you’re out and about look at sources of energy such as wind mills, solar panels, etc. Experience change of temperature when you’re exposed to the sun and when you’re in shade, etc.
If you happen to be at the seaside try and look at different pebbles – look and identify colours, textures, etc.
|Computing||Pupils this term will be learning about different types of ICT in everyday life – Disco Lights, CDs, DVDs, Telephones, Mobile Phones and a microwave.|
|Computing – Home learning opportunities||Pupils can use a series of websites to enhance their skills at home.

|Mental Wealth||We continue to develop our mental wealth. Pupils practice relaxation techniques and we will continue our “pampering” activities.|
|Mental Wealth – Home learning opportunities||Explore relaxation time at home; listening to calm music, going for a walk.|
|Citizenship||In Citizenship we will be creating products to sell at the summer fayre to raise money for a chosen charity.|
|Citizenship – Home learning opportunities||Choose a charity and show/explain your young person who that charity helps. Donate old clothes/toys to a chosen charity shop.|
Hello and welcome back in the last half term of this academic year. This half term will be very busy filled with exciting events such as Sports Day, Prom, Summer Performance and Transition Days.
Above is an over view of what we will be learning over this half term and some ideas for things you can do with your child at home to support their learning.
We are always excited for students to share their experiences and news from home with the class, so if you have any news please put a note in the student diary or send in some photos we will share news and photos each morning.

It’s cooking time!
Every Friday morning ES Integrated goes to our school café to make some lovely cakes. Our students have opportunities to practice their Maths, English and of course cooking skills in a functional situation plus there’s a yummy treat at the end!
