Hampshire Mountain Centre Residential 2017

On Monday 8th May 28 pupils from year 9, 10 and Osborne College attended the residential visit to the Hampshire Mountain Centre in the Brecon Beacons. Pupils stayed at the centre for four nights supporting each other to make meals and organise equipment. It is the 4th year the school has visited centre to taking part in a variety of outdoor and adventurous activities including canoeing, climbing, abseiling and caving.

The residential visit is an integral part of the school curriculum, providing the opportunity for all attending to develop their independence, life skills, social interaction, confidence and team work. Pupils develop their understanding of personal care, learn to make meals, support each other in challenging situations and take responsibility for their belongings. When taking part in activities instructors develop pupils understanding of safety, set personal challenges as well as learning about the different environments.

The school aims to continue to develop its residential and outdoor learning programmes. If you want to find out more please contact Stewart Lang either by email s.lang@osborne.hants.sch.uk or phone on 01962 854537
